What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is therapy delivered online, through secure video calls, instead of in one of our clinics. You or your family member can access high-quality speech pathology or occupational therapy from the comfort of your own home, using your own routines, tools, and familiar spaces.
And yes, it’s just as effective as face-to-face sessions.
For some families, adults, and people in rural areas, it can even work better.
How Does Telehealth Work?
Telehealth is simple, flexible, and designed to fit into your everyday life. All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer with internet access.
We’ll send you a secure video link before your session, no logins or downloads needed. There is no cost to accessing the secure platforms we use. You join the session from home (or wherever suits you best), and your therapist guides the session in real time. We use what’s already around you, toys, food, routines, tools, or work setups, so therapy is meaningful and relevant.
Sessions can involve you, a parent or carer, a support worker, or one of our allied health assistants. Every session is tailored to your environment, communication style, and goals.
Our focus is always on helping you (or your child/family member) build real skills, in real life — not just in a clinic setting.
Why Telehealth Works So Well
-
Being in your own home means therapy happens in a space that feels safe and predictable. This is especially helpful for Autistic individuals or children who feel more settled in their familiar environment, where routines, lighting, sounds, and surroundings are already known.
-
Therapy becomes instantly more relevant when it uses what’s already around you, your toys, kitchen tools, furniture, mealtimes, work tasks, or sensory strategies. It’s not about transferring clinic skills into life, it’s about learning directly in life.
-
With Telehealth, there’s no need to drive, commute, or reschedule your day. You avoid NDIS travel charges, save time, and conserve energy, which means more of your funding and capacity go toward therapy time.
-
Adults benefit from Telehealth in ways that are both practical and empowering. Whether you’re navigating fatigue, chronic illness, mobility challenges, or outpatient recovery, or simply prefer therapy in a private, low-pressure setting, online support meets you where you are.
-
No need to juggle multiple children, rush to the car, or bring siblings to the clinic. You can join the session while other kids stay in their own space, and routines stay intact. Telehealth gives your whole household more ease and flexibility.
-
If you live in a rural or remote area, or just don’t have a clinic nearby, Telehealth connects you with experienced therapists no matter your location.
-
We work alongside your whole support network, parents, carers, support workers, and Allied Health Assistants, to make sure strategies continue beyond the session. Whether we’re coaching someone live or following up with resources, we help make therapy part of everyday life.
