Workshop Topics

We offer a range of services to meet the needs of every client. Have something else in mind? We'd be happy to work with you to create a custom program.

  • Before a child can manage big feelings on their own, they borrow calm from an adult. This session covers what that looks like in the room: your tone, your presence, and staying with a child through distress, and why it has to come before any expectation that a child self-regulates.

  • How young children learn to recognise feelings, manage them, and interact with others. Educators come away with practical ways to build these skills through play, routines, and how they respond day to day.

  • Transitions between activities, and between indoors and outdoors, are where a lot of distress and behaviour surface. This session covers why they are hard for young children and how to smooth them using warnings, visual prompts, and predictable routines.

  • Behaviour is communication. Educators learn to read what a child is telling them and respond in ways that settle a situation rather than escalate it, while keeping the rest of the group regulated.

  • How early trauma can show up in the kindy room, and what helps. Educators learn to recognise trauma-related behaviour, build a sense of safety, and respond in ways that support a child rather.

  • The thinking skills behind focus, memory, self-control, and problem-solving. This session covers how they develop in the early years and how to strengthen them through everyday play and routines.

  • How to tell ordinary variation from a sign that a child may need more support. Educators learn the patterns to watch across communication, movement, social and play skills, and how to raise a concern with families carefully and collaboratively.

  • How to make sure every child can take part, including children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and those facing barriers to participation. Educators learn practical ways to plan an inclusive program and make every family feel welcome.

  • How autistic children experience kindy, and what helps them take part and belong. Educators learn neuro-affirming and strengths-based strategies for communication, routines, sensory needs, and more.

  • What speech and language usually look like at each age, and how to support them. Educators learn the difference between the two, how to notice a delay early, and simple ways to build communication skills through the day.

  • A practical introduction to key word signing for children who are not yet talking, or who need extra support to communicate. Educators learn core signs and how to use them alongside speech.

  • How early reading, writing, and number skills grow through talk, story, song, and play, well before school. Educators learn to build vocabulary, sound awareness, number sense, and early mathematical thinking in everyday moments.

  • The small-muscle skills behind drawing, cutting, dressing, and managing lunch. This session covers how they develop and practical activities to build hand strength and control.

  • The large-muscle skills behind balance, coordination, and moving with control. Educators learn how movement supports learning, and practical ways to build these skills indoors and outside.

  • How children take in the world through their senses, and why some find a busy room overwhelming while others seek more input. Educators learn to read sensory needs and adjust the space and the day so children can settle and join in.

  • A session built around a need you name. Tell us what is happening in your room and we design the workshop to match.
